A nice pool day

August 13, 2017 Sunday

I slept well last night, so well that I didn’t wake up until 10:15 this morning!!!!  And I was supposed to be at the pool at 11:00!!!  So I hopped, skipped and jumped fixing breakfast, getting dressed and getting over to the pool, but I made it on time!!  It was another wonderful pool day with almost no other people there and nice water that was not too cool or too warm.  Again, I protected myself from the sun and I purposely did not exercise too much this time.  I think I about broke myself the last time I went to the pool so I took it easier today.

When I woke up I had a very sore throat and it looked quite red, but no little white dots.  After about an hour or so, it was no longer hurting very badly, but I had a definite “frog” quality to my voice and I was coughing a lot – coughing stuff up sometimes!!!  No fun at all.   I was tired after the pool, but I did keep busy doing a little sewing and making a trip to Kroger and now that it is late at night, I’m feeling fairly bad.  My head is hurting some but I don’t know if it’s from tiredness or something else.  I do plan on visiting with at PA at the oncologist’s office tomorrow to see what they have to say about my throat and cough.  I hope it won’t interfere with the chemo treatment on Thursday.  Since I will start taking steroid pills again on Wednesday, that may help my throat.

Last night in the blog I mentioned that “hard” quilt block I was afraid of starting and immediately after finishing the blog, I started working on that block.  I figured I was going to have to do it at some point and I don’t like being afraid of something so I got started.  I have still not finished it and I don’t feel up to it tonight, but I have made a lot of progress on it.  I altered the method given in the pattern but I think it will work out.  The photo shows the block when it is about 2/3 done.  Now, I’m further along and only have one more piece to add to it.

My ankles have gone down some and I haven’t had any problems other than my throat and head today.  So it has been a good day.  I hope you had a good day too.
