August 26, 2017 Saturday
I slept fairly well and certainly late this morning. I did have a strange experience during the night – I woke up with a very nauseous feeling – you know that hot water in your mouth feeling right before you throw up – but I stayed very, very still and it slowly went away and I drifted back to sleep. That’s only the third time I’ve felt nauseous since I started chemo – I feel very lucky about that!!
I felt good when I woke up but felt that I should take it easy on my innards today so I fixed rice for breakfast. Had to fix two batches as I didn’t add enough water to the first – Yuck!! So breakfast was rice – not my favorite, but Rachel has said I should eat BRAT – Bananas, Rice, Applesauce and Toast to be nice to my digestive system and I was trying to behave.
Later I ate some watermelon because I felt really thirsty. I actually got out of bed last night and ate some watermelon because I felt thirsty and nothing I drank quenched that thirst. The watermelon did quench the thirst and I fell asleep after that. I really think that watermelon has been really helpful for my kidney and digestive systems through the chemo.
After my late breakfast, I mowed the yard – the yard certainly is dry and it was a very dusty experience. Now it all looks so much better because it had gotten quite high and ragged looking. After changing shirts, I prepared to go get my truck cleaned and then go to dinner with my travel friends – all eight of us were in town and planned to go to Bowman’s restaurant!! As I stepped into the carport, I felt the need to go to the restroom first and that’s when the trouble started!!!! All of a sudden my diarrhea was full force and all consuming!!! This session did not last as many hours as the one a few days ago lasted, but it was much more painful. There was no way I was able to join my friends, but I think they had a nice time together. Eventually the diarrhea was over and I just felt drained, with good reason I suppose!!
Afterwards I drank Gatorade and wouldn’t consider eating anything. Later, a friend brought me some items from the grocery store that might help and I did eat the banana pudding (Banana, right??) and a peach. She brought me some Desitin but I kind of wish she had brought me some Budroe’s Butt Paste – I love that name!!! I will be using the Desitin and will be happy to have it!!
Other than the diarrhea, my only problem today is still the coughing and the froggy voice. Those just don’t seem to change any at all. I suppose in time they will improve.
I do find it interesting that every time I’ve had bad diarrhea, it’s been in the afternoon – I wonder if there is a reason for that?!?! I haven’t figured one out yet.
Morning weight – 215.4

It’s Boudreaux’s Butt Paste- think you need some for your collection!! I figure it’s invented by a Cajun from Louisiana.
